Federal Documents take longer
Documents like FBI background checks come from federal agencies, which means they have to be authenticated by the U.S. Department of State — not by any state’s Secretary of State. That puts them on an entirely different track, with their own process, fees, and timeline.
Our Federal Apostille price covers everything: the Department of State’s submission fee and our handling, start to finish. Standard processing usually takes 3 to 5 weeks, with expedited service available in 2 to 3 weeks when offered. We take care of the submission and follow-up, so you don’t have to deal with the federal process on your own.
Do not Notarize your FBI report. The electronic Identity History Summary is authenticated exactly as it was issued, and any notarization or alteration will cause it to be rejected.

Are state fees included in the total cost?
Yes. Our California Apostille pricing is all-inclusive — it covers the Secretary of State’s submission fee, any required notarization, and our handling of the process. The only separate cost is return shipping, which you can either cover with your own prepaid label or have us arrange for you.
What counts as an additional Apostille?
Every document that needs its own separate Apostille certificate counts as one. If you submit multiple documents together, each one beyond the first is billed at the additional rate of $100.
Is same-day Apostille service available?
Yes, for documents submitted to our Los Angeles office by 12pm on business days. Keep in mind same-day service doesn’t apply to federal documents like FBI background checks, since those follow a separate process that takes several weeks.
What does the base fee for mobile notary service cover?
The base fee includes our travel to your location plus notarizing your first signature or acknowledgment. Any additional signatures during that same visit are $15 each, which is the maximum allowed under California law.
Does the federal Apostille service include federal fees?
Yes. Our pricing is all-inclusive, covering the U.S. Department of State’s submission fee along with our full handling of the process. Standard service is $150 and takes 3 to 5 weeks; expedited service, when available, is $300 and takes 2 to 3 weeks. You’ll just need to provide the original electronic FBI Identity History Summary.
